Real-life data on the treatment of diabetic macular oedema with fluocinolone acetonide presented
This year's 19th G.I.Vre National Congress was held in Florence, 7-9 June, at the Palazzo dei Congressi, housed in the 19th-century Villa Vittoria. Born in 1999, the Italian Vitreoretinal Surgery Group (G.I.Vre) has always been an important point of reference for Italian retina specialists. The Society now has 300 members and every year organises a national congress, which has now exceeded 1000 participants.
This year's edition was organised by Professors Marco Borgioli, Augusto Morocutti and Stanislao Rizzo.
In the rich programme of the congress, the symposium focusing on the treatment of diabetic macular oedema was particularly successful.
Three-year data from 'real life' studies on the use of fluocinolone acetonide in the treatment of diabetic macular oedema were presented at the event.
