The scientific coordination of this first monograph has been entrusted to Dr. Alfredo Pece, who has been among the most active members of the editorial board for more than a decade and is an undisputed opinion leader in retinal pathologies.
We offer you a collection of the most significant articles he has published in our journal, recounting and anticipating many of the major advances that modern ophthalmology has made in the field of medical and diagnostic retina.
Profile
Alfredo Pece was born on 20 April 1953. He became a Surgeon in 1982 and since then has mainly dealt with diseases of the Retina, Vitreous, Choroid and in particular the Macula. He directed the Centre for the Study of Maculopathies at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan for over 10 years and from 1995 to 1999 he was Head of Ophthalmology at the San Raffaele Hospital in Rome. He is currently President of Retina3000-ONLUSFoundation for the study and care of visually impaired people. Since October 2000 he has been Director of the Division of Ophthalmology in Melegnano (Mi).
He is married to Cristina and is the father of Francesco, Sofia and Emma.
