The aim of this discussion between retinology experts is to highlight the role of diagnosis in the choice of treatment for the EMD patient.
For all diseases, especially the most serious and complex ones, clinical diagnosis plays a central role in choosing the most effective treatment. It should also highlight, if possible, the pathogenic components and should be minimally invasive for the patient.
The panel discussion scheduled for 25 November will focus on the role of diagnosis in the management and treatment of Diabetic Macular Oedema, initially offering an examination of its pathogenic components (vascular and inflammatory) and after considering routine diagnostic examinations, dwells on theAngio-Octwhich represents a new frontier for an in-depth and comprehensive study of pathology.
If innovative diagnostic tools are now capable of highlighting the pathogenic components of the disease, a question arises: are we close to being able to  'customise'  treatment?
Incidentally, in this area, the pharmaceutical landscape currently offers innovative solutions that put adherence to therapy and thus the patient at the centre of attention.
